Obama Unveiled:
We Must Organize Now to Stop Him

Dear Family Advocates,Sharon Slater, President

Upon reading the details of Obama’s plan of action on family-related issues posted on his official transitional website, I literally felt sick. The impact of seeing them all summarized on one page was unsettling.  If the American people had really understood who they were voting for as their new president, a majority of them couldn’t possibly have chosen him.

Obama said during his campaign that he does not support same-sex marriage yet his website says that Obama believes “we need to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.”   Even though 44 states have enacted legislation to protect the definition of marriage at the state level, clearly showing the will of the American people, Obama is determined to eliminate this key protection for man/woman marriage at the federal level.

Obama’s website also declares that he will “oppose a Federal Marriage Amendment.” He boasts that he voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2006 which would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman.

In addition his website states that:

  • Obama will “strengthen federal hate crimes legislation” and expand hate crimes protection by passing the “Matthew Shepard Act” (click here to read an excerpt from my upcoming book explaining why this is so dangerous).

  • Obama will “support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act”, and expand it to include protections for “sexual orientation and gender identity”. (The American Psychological Association recognizes at least 23 different “sexual orientations” including pedophilia, bestiality, and voyeurism)

  • Obama will work with military leaders to repeal the Pentagon’s current “Don't Ask-Don't Tell” policy which restricts open homosexuality in the U.S. military.

  • Obama will ensure adoption rights for same-sex couples

  • Obama will promote AIDS prevention by distributing contraceptives through our public health system” among other things.

Many voters apparently were so mesmerized by Obama’a charisma and nebulous campaign for “change” that they either did not care or did not understand that much of this “change” he is advocating will drastically alter society and undermine the family and religious freedom.

The Obama administration truly is the single greatest threat to the family not just in America but internationally as well, because the U.S. delegations the Obama administration will now be sending to the UN and other international bodies will be pushing anti-family provisions.

Considering that liberals run both the House and Senate with greatly increased majorities it is going to be very hard to stop Obama from doing these things once he is president.  Our only hope to defend the family and family values from the attacks that will now inevitably be coming is to get better organized and get to work.

Please take the following steps to help us prepare to make the best defense possible for the family and family values.

1.  Pass this email on to as many people as you can so they will understand Obama’s true agenda in his own words and the increased threats we face.

2.  Click here to sign the “I Stand for the Family” petition ( if you have not done so already) so that as we work on these issues we can officially represent you.

3.  Pass on a link to the petition to as many people as you can.

4.  At a minimum, please consider becoming a Supporting Member of Family Watch by making a $25 donation (click here) or by making the most generous donation that you can.  Remember that contributions are tax deductible for U.S. taxpayers.

If there was ever an example of the importance of financial support in defending the family it was the victory in California.  When we have adequate financial resources, we can win.  But unless we have the funding, we will lose more often than not.

We depleted our own budget supporting the state marriage amendments and we even encouraged you to donate directly to the coalitions in Florida and California that were pushing these amendments.

I appreciate all of you who did that, but one result is that our financial situation is very bleak.  If we do not raise enough funds soon we may even have to shut down.  It is really that serious. If you appreciate the information we provide for you and our work to defend marriage and the family at the international, national, and local level please donate to help us continue this work.

If you cannot contribute personally, please encourage others you know who can do so to make the most generous contribution they can.  No matter your personal financial circumstances, I hope you will get others to sign the petition. The more people we represent the stronger and more influential our voice will be in defense of the family.

The next year is going to be extremely tough both at the UN and in the U.S.  Please support us in any way that you can.

Sincerely,
Sharon Slater
Sharon Slater
President

Your Financial Support Urgently Needed
to Protect the Family!

We have never faced greater threats to the family and family values than we do today.   The recent U.S. election will not only increase these threats to the family in the U.S. but also around the world.  The new U.S. delegations to the UN and other international forums that incoming president Barak Obama sends will be very different from the ones that we have worked with in the last eight years under President Bush.  They will join in the escalating attacks on the family and family values rather than being our allies in opposing them as they have been under Bush Administration.

We know all too well from his campaign promises that we face increasing threats to the family on multiple fronts in the U.S.

If we are to defend the family and family values in the face of these greater threats, we need your most generous financial support.  You can easily made a secure contribution on line here or print out a form to mail in.  Contributions are tax-deductible for U.S. taxpayers.  Thank you whatever support you can give!

Have We Gone MAD?

FWI Communications Director Lynn Allred offers some bizarre, real-life examples that make us wonder. . . Have We Gone MAD?

(Much of the world is still going mad, but Communications Director Lynn Allred will not be chronicling it for a week or two while she is adjusting to the birth of her new grandson. We expect her column to return next week.)
