Demand U.S. Stop Supporting Same-Sex Marriage and Worse at the UN
Dear Supporter of the Family,
Things happen quickly at the UN and there has been a development overnight that we need your help on. Time is short and we are asking you to make two phone calls, one to the White House and one to the U.S. Mission to the UN about a document being negotiated here at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meeting. (See below) This document endorses the legalization of same-sex marriage worldwide, among other anti-family provisions, even though President Obama has clearly said he opposes legalizing it.
This is the situation.
During late night negotiations at the UN (that lasted until 5:00 AM this morning) a U.S. representative to the UN came out to take a breather and I overheard her chatting. She stated that a UN resolution currently being negotiated and likely to be adopted Friday has absolutely “nothing controversial in it.”
I ran over to my laptop and quickly printed out the flyer we had created for delegates showing that the resolution in fact endorsed a second UN document calling for legalization of same-sex marriage, reproductive and sexual “rights” (abortion and sexual “rights” for transgenders and homosexuals), protective laws for “men having sex with men,” and penalties against anyone who criticizes “people who engage in same-sex relationships.”
Because she represents the Obama Administration, I showed her my flyer and asked her, since President Obama has stated that he is against legalization of same-sex marriage, what would the US position be on supporting the endorsement of this document that called for precisely that.
She smiled and said, “We support it.” I asked her, “Are you telling me that the U.S. supports a call for the legalization of same-sex marriage, and protections for men having sex with men?” (I already knew they supported a call for abortion rights).
She responded “We support that document. I was there last year when it was negotiated and we supported it then as well.”
I responded “Wow!”
We knew the new Obama Administration would be radical on these issues but it was sobering to hear it straight out of the U.S. representative’s mouth, especially when the document the U.S. is about to support is directly contrary to President Obama’s often stated position on same-sex marriage.
This is what we are asking you to do.
Please support our team here at the UN that is working to get this bad language deleted from the document. Time is short and we are asking you to make two calls immediately, one to the White House and one to the U.S. Mission to the UN.
In both cases, you will ask to have your concern about the U.S. endorsing the CSW document that among other anti family provisions endorses a position legalizing same-sex marriage even though President Obama has clearly and specifically stated that he is opposed to it.
The number for the comment line at the White House is 202-456-1111. You will speak to an assistant who will simply record your comment to pass on to the President and his staff.
The number for the US Mission to the UN is 212-415-4443. You will select the public affairs office extension and either leave your comment with the secretary there or record it on the comment line.
Time is short. We expect the final decision on this document by the end of the day today, Friday, March 13th. Please call now if you can.
Thank you for whatever you can do to help!
Please forward this on to others!
